The Women's Rights Division is a thematic division of Human Rights Watch, an international human rights organization based in the United States, which conducts systematic investigations in some seventy countries around the world. The Women's Rights Division was established in 1990 to monitor state-sponsored or state-tolerated violence against women and sex discrimination in all regions of the world. Much of its work consists in gathering detailed information on abuses against women and publishing reports that are as reliable, comprehensive and timely as possible, so as to effect change in repressive practices. The work of the division seeks to expand the scope of human rights work to address abuses against women that traditionally have been overlooked, including domestic violence, women's labor rights, international criminal justice for women and sexual abuse of women in prisons.

ISIS-Women's International Cross Culture Exchange is an action-oriented women's resource centre which was started in 1974 in Geneva, Switzerland. It relocated to Kampala, Uganda at the end of 1993 to try and tap information concerning African women to make it more accessible and available to women worldwide. ISIS-WICCE was founded in response to the increasing information needs of women from various regions of the world to communicate ideas, create solidarity networks, and share information to overcome gender related inequalities.

A Canadian institution with an international mandate, the Centre is an independent and non-partisan organization which initiates, encourages and supports the promotion, development and strengthening of democratic and human rights institutions and programmes through advocacy and capacity building. Since 1992, the Centre has been working for the full and equal recognition of the fundamental rights of women. In particular, work on the issue of violence against women has led the Centre to demand State accountability and stressed the importance for the State to exercise due diligence to prevent, investigate and punish acts of violence against women. Because women victims of gender-related war crimes face particular difficulties in trying to claim justice, the Centre created the position of Monitor to the International Tribunal for Rwanda, whose mandate is to systematically monitor steps taken by the Tribunal to address gender-related crimes. The work of the monitor involves ensuring that gender-related crimes are prosecuted and assisting women's groups in their efforts to seek justice for the victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Centre also hosts the International Coalition on Women's Rights in Armed Conflict Situations.

The People’s Movement for Human Rights Education (PDHRE) is a non-profit, international service organization that develops and advances pedagogies for human rights education through publication and dissemination of demand-driven human rights training manuals and teaching materials, and by servicing grassroots and community groups. It works directly and indirectly with a network of women's and social justice organizations. Reading materials on the human rights framework and issues are available online.
